Operation Fresh Start Awarded With New Grant
Wal-Mart Foundation Gives $100,000

MADISON, Wis. -- Some of Madison's youth were recognized on Wednesday for their hard work.The Operation Fresh Start group celebrated not only the completion of another home, but the group also received a $100,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation.It's the largest single contribution Operation Fresh Start has ever received, WISC-TV reported.As for the young builders, they said their experiences in the program have been life changing."A lot of people come into this program with problems, family problems or whatever, and I think building a house for people you don't know is a big step towards change, and it's really about change," said Daniel Coffee, of Operation Fresh Start.With the grant from Wal-Mart, Operation Fresh Start will be able to build 18 new, energy-efficient homes.
