Popular MSCR Program Teaches Safety-First

MADISON, Wis. -- McGruff the Crime Dog celebrated the opening of Safety Town at Franklin Elementary School in Madison on Monday.
VIDEO: Watch The ReportMore than 40 pre-kindergarten townspeople explored the small scale city complete with streets, sidewalks, businesses and homes.Safe communities and Madison School Community Recreation made the town a reality."Basically we want to just teach kids safe behaviors," explained MSCR outreach manager Sharon Neylon. "We want to teach them about safety in all different things -- water safety, animal safety, how to move around their community safely, that sort of thing."The Safety Town program runs through the summer.The program is so popular it is already filled with more than 325 kids.
