On Friday, the latest group of 15 students wrapped up an intensive three week training program called the youth business mentoring program, WISC-TV reported.

It works on everything from mock interviews to how to handle difficult customers.

"We set out to have 15 students, we got 97 applicants," said Common Wealth youth programs director Tariq Pasha. "We knew we were going to get a lot of interest."

Said Demetrius Bell, a graduate of the program, "It taught me a lot…how to work hard to get a job."

Extra county funding allowed the nonprofit group to expand to the west side of Madison, something they've always wanted to do. The added job training dollars were part of the recommendations of the recent gang task force report, WISC-TV reported.
