The University of Wisconsin-Madison is again one of the nation's top universities according to this year's U.S. News and World Report's annual college rankings.

UW-Madison came in 35th overall, but finished 7th among public universities, according to the magazine.

The UW did especially well in terms of its business programs with top five rankings in both risk management and real estate. The school finished 13th overall in terms of its business program offerings, and ranked second for its real estate programs and third in risk management.

The university also ranked high in engineering, with a No. 3 ranking in chemical engineering program.

Harvard University tops the annual college rankings list for the first time in 12 years. Ivy League rival Princeton slipped to second place after eight straight years of at least sharing the top ranking.

Placement is determined by several aspects including student selectivity, available resources and graduation rate.
