MADISON, Wis. -- The Rhythm & Booms fireworks show is set to blast into its 16th year next month at Madison's Warner Park.A Valentine's Day fireworks blast in China is leaving many U.S. cities short of supplies for their Fourth of July festivities, but not Madison's. The event will be staged Saturday, June 28.Rhythm & Booms organizer Terry Kelly said that his Iowa-based supplier stocks things a year and a half in advance so they won't be affected.A soundtrack will accompany the fireworks show. The rockets will start to fly at 9:30 p.m., WISC-TV reported.Kelly said that Rhythm & Booms is a unique event."It's one of the largest in states, as far as we know," Kelly said. "It's the largest Fourth of July outside of New York City so it is something to be proud of. (It's the) largest single day event in state of Wisconsin."There's no admission charge to get in to Rhythm & Booms. There's a long list of events all day long at Warner Park, including a 5 p.m. Madison Mallards baseball game. The makeup date is Sunday, June 29.
