We Energies Proposes 90 Wind Turbines In Columbia County
Park Would Be State's Largest Wind Power Project

MADISION, Wis. -- We Energies is asking state regulators to build 90 wind turbines in Columbia County at a cost of $340 million to $530 million.The proposed Glacier Hills Wind Park in the towns of Randolph and Scott, 45 miles northeast of Madison, would be the state's largest wind power project.The wind park would generate as much as 207 megawatts of electricity, which is enough to power about 45,000 homes.The Milwaukee utility filed an application Monday with the state Public Service Commission. The PSC's review of the project could take six months to a year.
We Energies completed a similar project earlier this year in Fond du Lac County where 88 turbines were commissioned.
