Organizations, Colleges Working On Environmental Plans

Edgewood College Is Taking Part In Initiative

The Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities is partnering with the Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency to launch a voluntary environmental health and safety inspections on campuses.

Locally, Edgewood College is part of the group and although it currently uses solar power for a dorm and utilizes rain gardens to minimize water run off, they want to stay environmentally friendly.

The plan stresses voluntary compliance which includes indentifying the problems and promptly correcting any violations.
