MADISON, Wis. -- Falling debris from Saturday night's fireworks at Rhythm and Booms is responsible for starting a fire at the event, according to an event spokesman.

The fire burned at Warner Park's Willow Island, the launch site of the fireworks. It apparently started during the display and was put out by firefighters after the show ended, WISC-TV reported.

"It was a small brush fire that just started up from some flaming debris that went back into the Willow Island area," said Rhythm and Booms vice president Deb McCue. "It wasn't serious. I know the neighbors were concerned a little after midnight and I know the fire department came in around about 2:30 a.m. and took care of a few embers that were left."

One person was taken to the hospital by Med Flight during the event, but it is not believed to be related to the fire.

Neighbors said that parts of Willow Island were still smoldering on Sunday afternoon. The situation was being monitored by the Madison Fire Department, but wasn't believed to be serious.

Early Sunday morning, dozens of volunteers made their way back to Warner Park to begin cleaning up from the festivities, WISC-TV reported.
