Woman Accused In Hit-And-Run Crash

Man In Critical Condition

UPDATED: 7:47 am CDT August 16, 2007

Prosecutors on Wednesday accused a woman in a hit-and-run crash that injured a 74-year-old man on Sunday.

Prosecutors said that Tammie Blizzard, 35, hit David Schmidt in a well-lit cross walk on North Sherman Avenue following a Mallard's baseball game. They said that Blizzard then circled around, driving past the scene before heading home.

Police said that Blizzard told investigators that she had as many as six beers before driving. Blizzard has been tentatively charged with operating while intoxicated and hit-and-run.

Blizzard has two previous OWI convictions, WISC-TV reported.

Schmidt remains in critical condition with a shattered pelvis and head injuries.
