UPDATED: 6:21 pm CDT August 16,

MADISON, Wis. -- Inspections of Wisconsin bridges with designs similar to the one that collapsed in Minneapolis earlier this month haven't revealed any problems so far, according to state officials.Finn Hubbard, chief bridge engineer at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, said that the last two inspections of 15 deck truss bridges are expected to be completed later on Thursday.Hubbard said that the good news is that inspectors haven't found anything unexpected even though they were looking closer than normal.Gov. Jim Doyle ordered the inspections after an interstate bridge in Minneapolis collapsed on Aug. 1. Hubbard said that state DOT employees put in long hours to meet the two-week deadline for the inspections. The governor has said that the DOT will install movement sensors on those bridges so they can be monitored around the clock.
