Madison City Channel Set For Move In August

City Channel To Move August 12

UPDATED: 9:00 am CDT June 28, 2008

The Madison City Channel has been on cable channel 12 for 35 years but starting in August it's making a big move -- to channel 994.

The move is happening because of the upcoming conversion to digital television.

Charter Cable is starting a new "public affairs neighborhood" which will include channels like Wisconsin Eye on channel 995, and C-Span on 996, WISC-TV reported.

After Aug. 12, viewers will need a digital converter box or a television with a built in tuner to continue to receive the Madison City Channel.
