MADISON, Wis. -- Lowering Lake Mendota's level is a possible solution to help combat area flooding and it has moved one step closer to becoming reality. The Madison Parks Commission on Wednesday unanimously voted to have the state Department of Natural Resources review its mandated minimum and maximum levels for Mendota. The resolution also calls on the county to review its lake level policy and directs Madison and adjacent cities to set thresholds for various types of floods, WISC-TV reported. The measure goes to the Madison Common Council in early August.
