Fire Crews Respond To Early-Morning Duplex Fire
No Injuries Were Reported

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison firefighters responded to a home fire at 6520 Tottenham Road Thursday morning.When firefighters arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the eves. Several of the occupants told the firefighters the fire was in the basement and the fire was quickly extinguished.No injuries were reported.According to a fire department news release, 13 occupants, some visiting from out of town, from 6520 Tottenham, evacuated after hearing their smoke detectors sound. They ran to the other duplex at 6518, and pounded on the door to alert them of the fire, where five occupants safely escaped.6518 Tottenham has some smoke odor and 6520 Tottenham suffered smoke, fire and water damage. Costs of damage is estimated at $10,000.
