Hilldale Redevelopment Hits Snag
Move In For Whole Foods, Condos Pushed Back

MADISON, Wis. -- Phase two of the Hilldale redevelopment on Madison's West Side is hitting a snag.
VIDEO: Watch The ReportRepresentatives with Chicago-based developer Joseph Freed met with Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and councilman Tim Gruber for, what they call a routine update on the project, WISC-TV reported.But the developer also had to address rumors of a fallout with Whole Foods."Whole Foods and we have discussed it. They're still committed to the market but unfortunately we are going to have to shift our schedule somewhat. It will delay in a one year delay to the project," said Robert Fink, chief operating officer for Joseph Freed and Associates LLC.The move in date has been pushed back to late 2010 and not 2009 as previously planned.The developer blames an unsteady economy and shaky market.
