UPDATED: 8:38 am CDT September 5, 2008

A Badger Bus Co. bus was evacuated on Thursday night and passengers were moved to another vehicle after an anonymous call warned there was a bomb on the bus, according to Madison police. Authorities said that no bomb was found.

Police said that they learned on Thursday night that someone had called the Badger Bus Co. to tell officials there could be a bomb on their last bus that left the station.

Madison Police Lt. Jerry Tomczak said the call came in around 8:30 p.m.

The bus was on East Washington Avenue and Dickinson Street when officers stopped it and evacuated all of passengers. They were moved onto another bus.

Police said that after a search of the bus, no bomb was found and the bomb squad wasn't called in.
