BELOIT, Wis. -- Beloit police are investigating a drive-by shooting Friday that left two people hospitalized with one facing life-threatening injuries.Police said the shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of Bluff and Liberty streets, which is roughly four blocks away from Beloit Memorial High School on the city's near West Side.It's a busy intersection in a primarily residential area, WISC-TV reported.Police said the victims were both in a car when a second car pulled up and someone fired multiple shots, striking the victims and their vehicle.One male victim was airlifted to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Police said the other victim, a woman, is expected to recover from her injuries."We have no motive at this point. We do have some witnesses that we're interviewing. And we do have a suspect vehicle that we're looking for, but we're not broadcasting that outside of law enforcement at this time," said Capt. William Tyler, of the Beloit Police Department.Police said that extra staff was working the case Friday night, including detectives and members of the department's drug and gang unit, though it is unknown whether the shooting was gang-related.
