ESPN: Favre Considering $20 Million Offer From Packers To Stay Retired

Favre Waiting To Be Reinstated By NFL

UPDATED: 11:03 pm CDT July 31, 2008

Brett Favre is considering an offer from the Green Bay Packers that would provide him with a paid lifetime role with the organization that would not involve playing, ESPN.com is reporting.

According to ESPN.com, Favre is convinced that the Packers will not allow him to be its starting quarterback and recognizes the team is unwilling to send him to a NFC North Rival and thus is considering the offer from the team.

"There isn't a perfect solution to this, but [Packers president] Mark Murphy is at least trying," Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder on Thursday night. "We know what they want and where I stand. His solution, although awkward and unsettling for most, may be the best in the end.''
